The meeting will also serve as the association’s celebration of appreciation.
Acknowledgements and honorary recognitions will be awarded for work in the service of humanism. -

Tilgangur samkeppninnar er að örva ungt fólk til vandaðrar siðferðilegrar hugsunar og skrifa um álitamál í samtíðinni og veita þeim jafnframt tækifæri til viðurkenningar og birtingar á ritverki sínu. Vilhjálmur Árnason, próf. emeritus er verndari keppninnar. Síðasti skiladagur er sun. 10. maí og verðlaunaafhending er fös. 29. maí kl. 15:50 í Sögu.

Föstudaginn 20. mars kl. 20:00 mun Sævar Finnbogason heimspekingur halda utan um hressilega umræðu um eðli gervigreindar og áhrif hennar á samfélagið.

The Board of Flourishing
Yesterday, 15 March 2026, Flourishing held its first general meeting since its founding meeting on 23 March 2025.
The principal milestones in the building of the association were reviewed, and this development has progressed rapidly, as both the leadership and the group of officiants consist of an outstanding team with extensive knowledge and experience.
The admission process to Humanists International is proceeding well, and the association’s application for official registration with the state is currently under committee consideration.
There was a poetry reading and singing, but the central focus of the general meeting was the presentation of honorary recognitions and the expression of gratitude to three humanists for their significant contributions to the cause of humanism in Iceland.

Stjórn Farsældar
Jóhann Björnson hefur umsjón. Í málstofunni verður samræða sem aðferð í námi og kennslu skoðuð með hliðsjón af öllum skólastigum. Málstofan fer fram samtímis í Fundaherbergi RA og á netinu.
Málstofan er kjörin fyrir fólk sem hefur áhuga á stunda samræður, hvort sem er í skólastarfi, með börnum sínum, vinnufélögum eða vinum. Þátttaka er opin öllum.

Víða um heim er merking lögð í hin árlegu tímamót sólstöðu - á norðurhveli jarðar sem vetrarsólstöður þann 21. desember ár hvert. Hér hugar Svanur, formaður Farsældar, að því hvaða merkingu þær geta haft í huga húmanista.
